Rick Heckman president of the Berks Ikes was presented with the 2011 Outdoor Sports-Person Of The Year Award at the Federated Sportsmens Clubs of Berks County Banquet held Saturday March 3,2011 at the Virginville Grange This Award, sponsored by A Great Day Outdoors Radio and TV, WEEU, and the Reading Eagle, is presented each year to a Berks County volunteer who is outstanding in his effort to protect and promote our outdoor-sports heritage Rick Has been president of the Berks Izaak Walton League for the past ten years, plays a major part in the "Ikes" Bass Nursery at Egleman's, helped with structure projects at blue Marsh Lake, is involved with Berks County Youth Field Day, and is a staff volunteer with Wildlands Weekend. |
